The Miniature Bernedoodle is a captivatingly cute combination of the Bernese Mountain Dog and the Miniature Poodle. They vary considerably in size, color, and coat depending on the attributes of the mama (a Bernese Mountain Dog) and the papa (a miniature – or in some cases – toy Poodle).
Adult mini Bernedoodles can weigh as little as 15lbs, or as much as 40 or even 50lbs (7-22kg). Their mostly hypoallergenic coats can be either wavy or curly and are usually either bi-color (black and white) or tri-color (black, white, and tan or rust). On occasion, puppies will be born with sable, tan, and white coats but the sable color can fade over time.
Shorter, curlier coats are best for allergy sufferers, though it can sometimes be hard to predict whether a puppy’s coat will be wavy or curly as a fully-grown adult. No matter what, these dogs have the intelligence of a Poodle and the sweet, loving nature of the Bernese Mountain Dog. They are a little more energetic as a result of their Miniature or Toy Poodle papa. We recommend early training as well as moderate physical activity to keep them mentally stimulated and prevent bad habits from forming out of boredom. The Mini Bernedoodle’s average size and combination of intelligence, gentleness, and energy make them excellent family pets.
